The Maize Out March is organized by
the student group Bridge the Gap (BTG). BTG is a collection of Arab, Muslim,
and Jewish students who joined together in the Fall of 2006 to promote dialogue
between all parties of the Israel-Palestine conflict on campus. The graduation
issue, the University’s decision to add sky boxes to the stadium, and the
continued disenfranchisement of
community members with physical disabilities from football games transcends
global conflict. This unity march will demonstrate that a campus community can
work together for positive change, regardless of ethnic affiliations.
